Our business mission is to bring positive change to the events industry. We want to offer bespoke, socially responsible events for both corporate and private customers.
And what better way for Jubilee Events to do this than to collaborate with other social enterprises and sustainable businesses to offer a complete ethical events package for corporate events?
Our very first collaboration could not have been for a better event - the celebration of a successful sustainable business support programme to SMEs in the East Midlands. The DE-Carbonise project, led by the University of Derby in collaboration with Derby City and Derbyshire County Councils, helped SMEs in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire increase their sustainability and save money by reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.
As a small business ourselves, we could get behind that!
This corporate event was somewhat unusual in that not only was the event held in an environmentally and socially responsible way, but the celebration itself was about helping other businesses run their business in this way. And it featured some amazing student-created artwork about the environment and sustainability as well.
So, how did it all come about?
Jubilee Events was approached by the university who wanted to hold a special celebration event to mark the end of this fantastic project.
The brief was simple: you have access to a great venue and you hire out fantastic marquees – can you find us an excellent, social, 100% vegan/vegetarian caterer?
And of course we could!
We provided event consultation and worked with the University of Derby team to prepare for the big day, including recommending the caterers.
Of course, we set up one of our fabulous clear span marquees for the main event along with a pagoda for the art exhibition, supplying all the necessary equipment too. On the day itself we also provided event coordination – our team was responsible for coordinating parking and the guests' arrival, liaising with the caterers, and overseeing the sound system, along with a myriad of small details to keep the day running smoothly for the event organisers.
This way the hosts could relax and focus on the event itself, especially the speeches and the networking, without being distracted by the practical details.
All of this was done on a beautiful country estate run in an environmentally friendly way while providing work opportunities for people who face social exclusion and multiple barriers to work.
A win in anyone’s book!
“It was a pleasure to work with Jubilee Events. The team are very responsive, professional and friendly and we would love to collaborate again with them in the future. We couldn’t have hoped for a better event. Thank you!”
