Luxury Peak District Wedding

Take a peek behind the ivory drapes at the beautiful countryside wedding we facilitated for our clients Sarah and Ben. We will walk you through the wedding preparation process, the setup and the set down. Hear from the couple about their experience with Jubilee Events and explore all the information you’ll need to make your own countryside wedding dreams a reality.

Sarah and Ben’s wedding took place at Wheeldon Trees Cottages, an award-winning retreat with 10 luxury cottages overlooking one of the most beautiful valleys in the Peak District.

The couple wanted a full marquee set-up for their big day, enabling them to accommodate 122 guests for a sit-down wedding breakfast and evening celebrations. The full set-up meant, as well as the large luxury marquee, we were also able to provide them with:

  • Furniture

  • Dance floor

  • Sound system

  • Lighting

  • Generator

  • Catering tent

So let’s walk through what it looks like to use Jubilee Events for a wedding.

Preparation

When you approach Jubilee Events to discuss your wedding needs, we begin the process by talking through your vision for your big day. Through a conversation with our experienced events planning team, we’ll build up a picture of what you want - the things you’ve always wanted and maybe things you haven’t thought of yet. We’ll look at the practical elements like the space you have available to you, access and the facilities on site. If we have never provided a marquee for your chosen location, we will conduct a site visit to see what will work best.

As well as visiting the site, for large weddings like Sarah and Ben’s we also use satellite mapping software to work out the best position and orientation for the marquee. This enables us to make the most of the space available - and for Sarah and Ben, allowed us to ensure everyone had the best experience of the stunning views from the venue.

We also use Tent Planner marquee layout software which enables us to try different layouts for the interior of the marquee, incorporating all the elements you require. You can access this software yourself for free and try out different layouts for your event - give it a go!

As you can see in the pictures, we tried out a couple of layouts for Sarah & Ben. We were able to comfortably seat 126 guests which gave them a little extra space. Some of their guests were bringing babies, so having a little room to accommodate prams and pushchairs was ideal. Our complete set-up also includes a fully kitted-out catering tent, giving their providers ample room to prepare and serve all the guests.

Throughout the planning we communicate with the couple, who can rest assured that their hopes for the wedding day are in good hands. Sarah says:

From the very start of our contact with him (Roger, our Operations Manager), was incredibly friendly and super speedy to respond. His communication and calculations re dimensions etc. were very clear and we were given an excellent explanation of what our options were and how he could make our ideas reality.

Set up

Once your layout is sorted and we have ensured you have all the facilities you need then it’s time for you to do the fun bit! Our Clearspan marquee and pagodas come with luxury ivory drapes, which provide the perfect canvas for your floral arrangements and decor. We also have blackout curtains and a range of lighting options available to help you create the perfect atmosphere for your wedding day.

We ensure your marquee is set up ahead of time so you have plenty of time to decorate and add all the personal touches that will make your day unique.

Sarah & Ben’s choice of vibrant summer flowers brought a beautiful pop of colour against the crisp backdrop and they paired them with warm white fairy lights for added sparkle.

“They got the marquee up perfectly smoothly in advance and once it was up it was beautiful. The inside was especially stunning, with perfect lighting and lovely draped ceilings and we loved the clear/unzippable side as this allowed us to look out on the view!”

Set down

Once your wedding day is over our team will arrive on-site and set down. We will plan this all in advance, so you and your wedding party can relax knowing that everything will be removed promptly. Plus, since our marquee structure is built using a lightweight metal frame and pinned into the ground with pegs, similar to a tent, it leaves no damage to the ground. We ensure all rubbish is cleared away and the site is returned to its pristine natural state.

“Once it came to taking things down it was totally quick and painless which is not a given with these things!”

Our marquee leaves no impact on the environment, but it does make a big impact on the lives of people who experience major barriers to employment. Jubilee Events exists to provide employment opportunities to those struggling with employment, including those who have experienced homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges and refugees. Our teams work together to provide a good employment experience for all, and to give you a wonderful day to remember!

“Finally, the premise of the company being a social enterprise and employing people who otherwise have difficulty finding work is really excellent and something we really wanted to support. We were pleasantly surprised that this didn't negatively impact it's ability to provide a top class service one bit and that is testament to Roger and how fab he is. Oh and it is great value compared to every other company we looked at. Thank you so much."
